Colour Block

What was your inspiration for the Archist City series?

ARCHIST is a playful interpretation of the expressive language and aesthetic of some of the most popular artists. I enjoyed creating 27 “paintings projects” which represented 27 different artists.

There is a Symbiotic Relationship an implicit partnership between Architecture and Art, different art branches meet in many fields.
Art and architecture are disciplines that speak and lightly touch each other, the definition and function of the architecture are changing constantly with the development of contemporary art.
I like finding the hidden architecture in parallel universes, in this sense, the illustration helps me to explore alternative languages.

What do you like about colour blocking?

The colours are like people – they are alive. They love, hate, observe and admire each other. They can argue and then make peace or love.

I have no favourite colours and favourite combinations. Everything depends on the moment and by the occasion.

Who is your favourite artist from the series and why?

I do not like to make these choices. I do not want to make charts as there are many great artists that influence me. I have many lovers but I do not want to marry one.

What are you working on next?

I’m always working on multiple projects simultaneously. This way allows me to have a more dynamic approach.

I’m working on several things at once even if I do not know what’s going to be the next. It is difficult enough to recognise myself in the present and to remember me in the past so that I prefer leave the future alone.
