November Inspiration

A run down of the things that inspire us this month:

Yener Torun

Yener Torun’s instagram feed @cimkedi is a no holds barred festival of colour and geometric patterns.

The Modern House

A website that always delivers on visual stimulation is surprisingly also an estate agent’s. However, given the caliber of the modernist buildings on offer it acts more like a compilation of some of the most desirable places to live and a wellspring of interiors inspiration.

Alexander Calder’s modernist mobiles

The pioneering sculptor is having a retrospective at the TATE Modern from the 11th of November. We’ll be at the front of the queue to view his kinetic pieces in action.

Donald Judd 101 Spring Street

The only single-use, cast iron building left in Soho, minimalist artist Donald Judd bought the building in 1968 to use as his studio and home. A truly impressive piece of NYC history, you have to book in advance but it’s not to be missed.

Fantastic Man – Men of Great Style and Substance

Naturally we’re fans of Fantastic Man and this compendium of 69 of the world’s most compelling and stylish men is our new favourite coffee table tome.

Gerhard Richter: Colour Charts at the Dominque Levy gallery

Colour is central to everything we do, so it’s no surprise that the palettes from the Gerhard Richter exhibition hold a certain pull. With more hues than a pantone book, this is visual feast that’s sure to inspire.

The world of Charles and Ray Eames at the Barbican

The prolific husband and wife duo helped shape the 20th century with their furniture and product design. The Barbican exhibition delves into their creative collaboration and shines a new light on their work and life together.

Byblos Miami

After celebrating opening our Bal Harbour store and as we explore the new neighbourhood eateries, Byblos’ delectable Eastern Mediterranean flavours makes it our first port of call. The tea cocktails are especially good.

Max Richter’s Sleep soundtrack

Perhaps not the one for headphones at work, the sleep soundtrack is the brilliant new album by contemporary composer Max Richter.

Photograph 51 with Nicole Kidman

If you can get a ticket for Photograph 51 then Nicole Kidman’s interpretation of DNA pioneer Rosalind Franklin you won’t be disappointed – it’s electric.
